Boston University, Pardee School of Global Studies: Assistant Professor of International Relations, Global History or History of International Relations

The Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Global History or in the History of International Relations, beginning July 1, 2024. The search is open to all regional, thematic, and functional specializations. Successful candidates would be expected to have completed a Ph.D. by August 15, 2024, demonstrated the potential for excellence in any discipline relevant to international affairs, and share a commitment to the Pardee School’s institutional values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

The successful candidate will teach at least one required class on the history of 20th and/or 21st century international relations as well as courses in his/her/their areas of regional or functional expertise, and will also advise and mentor our undergraduate and graduate Masters degree students. Prior teaching experience and a record of publication and research will be considered a significant plus. The Pardee School of Global Studies is committed to multidisciplinary, empirically-grounded and policy-relevant research and teaching and to nurturing the next generation of international relations practitioners, and it is expected that candidates will share this commitment.
